The merry minstrels gathered around
King Walt would like a new jitterbug
To honor the king we'll call it the Waltz
King Walt said they could sure cut a rug

That’s the story of the glorious Waltz
The king soon passed after getting it down
And the court whisked away the signed decree
To state all Walts were in line for the crown

At times I get bitter hearing a Waltz
The king’s coffers, I did not get any
Then I say to my dear wife Jennifer
No one e'er danced the ill-fated Jenny
