Improvisational poem:
Subject: hot chocolate at night
Word: roads
-------------------
Begin Poem Here:

ebony skies, starry
wishes, and dreams
traveling along the
roads in my memory

how far I've traveled
from where I've been
from hammers and stains
of crimson/black red

how much I've learned
while watching the fires
of hell beat against my
soul the lessons i was
made to learn

the demons have risen
and taken my sleep again
and the insomniac welcomes
the madness.. to be found
again in another
brandy laced hot
chocolate night

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Improvisational poem:
Subject: tree leaves and windy days/nights
Word: gone
-------------------
Begin Poem Here:
Tag
a nature ballet of
orange and red floating
upon the wind....
and i remember the days
when they were piled
up high ...
and how we would roll
in the dense carpet of
color
while pretending to play
football, by tag, yet
you come at me with smirk
and together we'd begin
to fall
fall, like the leaves as
they danced in the wind
until they crumpled and
died in the sun,
and much like your love
...the colors have
gone with the wind
"...I am a river in winter,
quiet in the eyes of most
but deep,
swift and full of life
to one, lucky enough to fall through the ice.
snow,
good improvisation. I especially like the leaves one, such vivid images.
improvisational? does that mean you wrote without doing any edits at all? who picked the subjects and the key words? just curious... i mean, did you choose them yourself or were they suggested to you? sometimes that's really inspirational to have another person/writer suggest words/thoughts then write on it.... sort of like the "challenges" we have here at passions...
some very good poetry comes out of stream-of-consciousness -- without any edits...
you did an excellent job with both of these... enjoyed them very much! good work!
Very well done in both cases and I guess I'd have to ask the same questions as Doreen but I'd also have to compliment you the same way. I enjoyed the idea of them being improvisational...wonderful idea!
