Gallery Reading Room

you never really know how wonderful
something looks
until you're made to really stop
and look at it
take the scenery at night
when you can't see what's really there
you can see anything
you can make the trees blue
the sky green
the houses as big or as small as you want
you can imagine anything
even the lights of the cities
you can make them be Rome
or New York
or Paris
or the lights of home
the world is yours to see
the lights are yours to gaze at
the road is yours to travel
and all this
just from a short trip
where I didn't have to do
the driving

Very good, Sven!! Of course when I'm not doing the driving, my knuckles turn white from gripping anything that is grippable...hehehe....I'm not a very good back seat driver...I'm working on it, though! Maybe it would help to try some of your kind of imagining!

What a wonderful scenario. I am seeing palm trees I think, in the middle of this ice and snow. (I hate to drive by the way)

*sigh* your wonderful words paint beautiful pictures that I always love to stop and see. Thank you, sweet Sven. Much love to you from me.

brings back great memories of trips to LA in the night...us kids in the back of the wagon, watching the stars pass, then we skirt the hill overlooking LA, and suddenly, all of the stars are at our feet...

thank you Sven, for the memory...

Personally, I'd rather let someone else do the driving as well.

Great poem!

Sven,
if you weren't doing the driving, what would you be doing?
loved this poem.
Btw. I dreamed you wrote a tribute to Sunny1. I even have the words in my head. How's that for back seat driving *laughs*

Sven,
Beautiful, as always!! Let your dreams be your vehicle, and let your heart do the driving.  When the heart guides you, you never have to stop and ask for directions...
         Much love, Elise
