She had a way of innocence around her,
Like she wore it on her sleeve.

Undeniably eager to learn about love, about life, about the world.

Not afraid of what was to be, for she could not expect what was right under her nose.

Not afraid of what was to be, and not expecting either, but blinded by thick glasses
Covering her bright brilliant blue eyes, masking her, shading her, protecting her.

Thick glasses on the table of the coffee house ‘round the corner, reflecting distorted
Images of the people walking in.

Distorted images of people walking in and passing by,
Lies coating the insides of their shirts,
Not visible to her bright brilliant blue eyes.

Lies not easily detected or maybe just left alone their sleeves of experience
Outlasting those or her own.

Experience used the innocence like a wolf does to a lamb.
And this meek little lamb eventually learning of what the plan was that had been laid upon her.

The white skin turned to gray for the softness all gone rough
The innocence washed away, thrown in with the colors and plaids and silks lost among The wash.

Now this meek little lamb with a way about her went out to learn the world.
To learn of love and life and friendship, to learn the stories left untold.

Not expecting to find danger but a single sliver clover.
Not expecting lies and deceit, but a fairy tale ending.

But what she looked for was not what she found,
For life was not all black and white.
She found the grays and greens the cottons the silks the plaids, the brights.

She had a way of experience around her,
Like she wore it on her sleeve,
A sleeve of beautiful colored garments enhancing her
Bright brilliant blue eyes for now all the world could be seen.

CareBear3,
wow you took the cloth of color and made a lovely weave out of it.
