Down Snowy Bank

Blade of steel will hardly budge
Until it gets a little nudge
A simple push then off it goes
Down laden hills of fallen snows

With whispering swish of sliding sled
The white tailed doe perks up her head
Then further down toward steeper drop
It picks up speed and cannot stop

Past evergreen the runners slide
While Blue jay flaps and rabbits hide
On unmarked path, the first to go
Leaves telling trail lines in the snow

Momentum carries rider swift
To flatter ground and meadow’s drift
It comes to rest in piled steep
Of dusty powder three feet deep

Then up the hill to drudge he must
On slippery foot in icy dust
But willing to repeat the prank
A hundred times down snowy bank

And thus the lie that would not budge
Took off with ease with just a nudge

I remember going sledding when I was younger. Made me think of those days. And it's true...sometimes some things won't go until we give them the nudge. Well done.

Merry Christmas!
