Listening to every heart

Maturity

he
called me
mature
or at least
acknowledged
so, my works ~
but did he hear
the soft joyful sigh
deep inside

as I remembered

when I
was callow
oh how so
the wisdom
of the ages
from the mouth
of sages
did I long for then

as I see now
in the tallow

the wave I crest
to watch the best
sweep before me
in their gilded words
of poetry
and sigh for I
would be as they

as they touch
on words of young
or leave undone
a treasured chest

for all to read upon

fact, fiction or fantasy
are woven by the
best of thee
and harboring lights
within the night
as they write
their poetry

see?

in
the
flicker of
candle's light
the quill has
begun to quiver,
and enlightening
the chest of treasures
in swift of measure
the count of line
and
heartbeat's
leisure

I
see
maturity
in the
write of
me, as did
he who called
my aged
words mature
and now I see
as sure as he
that I shall reach
for youth and
surety in the
grip of my pen
and in the grip
of me.

Your poetry has taken on new dimensions lately Karilea ... and it's wonderful! I've enjoyed so many poems from your gilded quill. It's lovely to see you penning into the night  ... your talent is a wonderfully inspirational gift to me ... so I say thank you for this lovely present, and Merry Christmas to you my friend!

Happy Holidays and Best wishes,
/Kit

Maturity - hardly an adequate word to describe what you've been accomplishing - I'm not sure I have enough complimentary advectives/adverbs - to describe the pleasure I've taken reading your works - suffice to say - I love all I read.

Kiari love, did I not say that you had reached a far higher plane, you have indeed transcended. I feel as if you are beaming pure light and divine knowledge, and I'm honoured, indeed privileged to witness your ascention. Utterly wonderful love, utterly wonderful. Fly high love, soar on your wings of light, and delight us all. But especially me
Take care love

sunshine, as the younger poets read your words they feel that they are also experiencing the best passing by because that is what you have become in both style and word usage.

Have you matured? Absolutely..is there youth in the quill of you? Oh, yes..and you instill it within your readers as well. Needless to say, I have been enjoying your works very much lately..write on, mature and youthful poet!

JanetMarie, you never say anything you do not mean, and I treasure you, thank you...

Mr. Yeats, the underlying, unsaid adjectives were plenty, thank you Sir...

Karilea,
I think Ballader said it best. Your poetry has changed, gone from beautiful to wonderful. *L*

I also note that your free verse is exceptional...keep it up!
