on the roof again

i know my appearance around here has been sporatic and spotty at best lately. but i have been dealing with many things. graduating, college, a job, homework, sleep, and other...problems. so i must formally submit my resignation for a while. it's a temporary leave of abscence; i have many demons i must battle right now. i will miss all of you a great deal. you've helped me find parts of myself i didn't know were there. please continue to do the same for others.

ususally it's my poetry that combats these demons, but i'm afraid not even that is able to channel what i now must face. farewell my friends. thanks for the memories, the poetry's, and the friendship. i am reposting an old one from open 8 (this post wouldn't last without a poem, right?). i'll miss you all more than you can fathom. *but i'll see ya in the book, right?*

"so do the proud men die: crucified not on a cross of gold, but on a stake of humble tin."

goodbye

*who is Jack?*
i am Jack's gray and cloudy cataract. the sights i filter in are not happy and proud. but they are so much brighter than the darkness i writhe in.
i am Jack's tired feet. i am tired of running to the end of a tunnel that runs faster than me.
i am Jack's raging hate. i pound frustrated knuckles against a stubborn doorframe.
i am Jack's shallow breathing. i am conditioned to know that i cannot go deeper because of the weight there on my chest.

i've screwed up again. i've done something wrong.
i am a failure.

i am Jack's complete lack of surprise.
i am Jack's weary ear drums. i bleed from the ranting that has become a ceaseless drone.
i am Jack's bruised knees. i buckle and chatter not in Fear, but in Anticipation.
i am Jack's wondering hope of a better place with good smiles. i glimmer in Jack's eye, beyond the cataract.
i am Jack's bleeding knowledge. i bleed because that sensation is Real. like what i know. like what i am. like Life.

i am Jack's wasted life.
because i can only be what i am told i am.< !signature-->

Everyone's got their demons.
We all got somethin' to atone for.

Ethan ...
you take care of you for me OK baby...
and you take all the time you need...thats the beauty of this place...while your gone...we save your stool
Promise me one thing.. dont stop writing, even if you dont post it... keep writing for your self while you do this soul searching and growing...
like you in this time...your poetry will grow..
no matter what you do...no matter where your roads lead you know...you are a poet and that is a gift that will carry you, and keep you strong.
never forget I am here if you need to talk...
and while I know its not ever easy ...
I KNOW you will find your way...
you are stronger and wiser than you know ...
I've seen ~you~ shining in your poetry.
Merry Christmas sweet one ..
love ya E,
jm

if you're gone
MB20

I think I've already lost you
I think you're already gone.
I think I'm finally scared now
You think I'm weak - But I think you're wrong
I think you're already leaving
Feels like your hand is on the door
I thought this place was an empire
But now I'm relaxed - I can't be sure

I think you're so mean - I think we should try
I think I could need - this in my life
I think I'm just scared - I think too much
I know this is wrong it's a problem I'm dealing

If you're gone - maybe it's time to go home
There's an awful lot of breathing room
But I can hardly move
If you're gone - baby you need to come home
Cuz there's a little bit of something me
In everything in you

I bet you're hard to get over
I bet the room just won't shine
I bet my hands I can stay here
I bet you need - more than you mind

I think you're so mean - I think we should try
I think I could need - this in my life
I think I'm just scared - that I know too much
I can't relate and that's a problem
I'm feeling

If you're gone - maybe it's time to go home
There's an awful lot of breathing room
But I can hardly move
If you're gone - baby you need to come home
cuz there's a little bit of something me
In everything in you

I think you're so mean - I think we should try
I think I could need - this in my life
I think I'm just scared - do I talk too much
I know it's wrong it's a problem I'm dealing

Some people find subtlety in strangers
if you find anything~let me in
Your eyes~you see everything
my eyes~I see it all together now~and I know

I can certainly relate Ethan....I've not
been here much myself this month....but
trips back here always fill me with the
peace that brought me here in the first
place as I'm sure it does you....You know it
will all be waiting for you when you have
time to return and until then you will be
held in thoughts and prayers that all goes
well for you....stop in to let us know that
you are well....Happy holidays to you dear
poet and know that you have an angel on your
shoulder...let him take care of you.  We'll
always be here when you are ready and able
to return~

Well we will certainly miss you but we do understand and as the others before me said, Passions will be here when you return.  Keep the pen handy with you as you never know when one will just pop into your head.  Good luck and may you find the peace that you are looking for and need so much right now.

~Ethan, sending strength your way and hoping you'll return soon and full of all that you are looking for. This poem, again, I've read it before and could read it a thousand times. Always reaches me, always leaves an impact. It's a pounder! *Peace along your journey. Return safely.

*Btw, for someone who never watches television it's an odd thing that I've seen that movie three times in the middle of my sleepless nights this month. Again,...strength.
