Listening to every heart

Words of Ice

zero is the winter morn
landscaped white, not forlorn
brilliant gleam, casting bright
snow fell throughout the night
and created this awesome sight

in bundled layers I now seek
the quiet time in which to peek
inside this my loving heart
to carry words that would impart
the love I have for you

but caught up in the chill of day
caught back in my throat to say
how I love you in my way
the words are still and quietly lay
and solemn is my love for you

oh the beauty of your awesome word
that last when it was I heard
the way you spoke so tenderly
the love that you spoke to me
and which I keep here close to see

and now in my warmed memory
I whisper your name so quietly
the cold air catches my words of nice
transforming them into words of ice
and they softly float away

Karilea
If I whisper, will you listen?...
I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound.

I do so wish I could see the beauty in the snow.  I do see the beauty in the snowflake, but my neighbors, absolutely wonderful people, are traveling today.  We had a small amount of snow yesterday, then freezing rain to dress it down.  It's supposed to go away by noon, but weather people are so right on I'm still concerned.  My daughter is hoping to come for Christmas, too.  I think your line near the end, about changing to words of ice is more like how I feel about the snow right now.  I hope it floats away.  Do you mean, in this piece, then, that the warmth has gone out of your words?  I want to know if I understand your main statement.

Virginia, I wish all of your family and friends safe travel over this holiday season...

this morning at 5 odd thirty I was letting my Abby out and as I looked around, the light from my deck caught my breath as it floated away in the cold morn air...with the icy crystals around me, the beauty of the scene...the love in my heart for all...these words just came together...

Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus, and hopefully there will always be warm in my words...and I thank you for reading...

'Solemn' love - these words - this love - strikes right to the heart - Unquestionably one of the most beautiful poems you've written - and at least for me - this verse - and 'solemn' really touched me

swift and full of life

Sun this poem floats and carries the reader away...
written like a whispered promise...
the cadence is a perfect melody
wonderful writing and the pics were an added treat of the lovley imagery you penned.
beautiful poetry.

The beauty of this poem could thaw the coldest day...

Sunshine, your poetry has moved to a higher level..the combination of words and emotion that you inject blend together so perfectly the poem is not read...it is absorbed.

Enough of this hero worship!! The poem is good - I like it - period!
