In the end
nothing had
significantly
changed.

And I was
but a baby
born unto
baby like
things.

A babie's eye
A babie's mind.

Blank... an empty
chalkboard.
Clean slate.

Draw on me.
Write on me.
Fill me up.

Make a bridge
that had not
been burned before.

I a baby had grown
old, tired and
quite senical
of untold
baby things.

But in the death
no great truths.
No drastic changes.
Nothing had
significantly
changed.

It is all rather
baby like. Human like.
Rather childish.

This, the realization
of an American tragedy.
All was well.
Change had been
averted yet again.

I died like an man
in my lover's grip.
I died like a soldier
run-through in the fields.
I died like an enfant
in my mother's arms.

And nothing I had done
mattered. Nothing was
better. Nothing worse.

No, nothing significant at all

This one I had to force myself to read. It should be burned in Effigy.

I believe the most important component of a poem is rhythm. Rhythm is the heartbeat of a poem. It is what makes poetry poetry.
