In the space between moments

A catatonic reverie
Suspended in frigid air
Bears the etching of your face
And shows your smile plastered
In whispy threads of moonlight.

My frostbitten fingertips
Long to trace the fire
Living in your limbs,
But the only light they touch
Is the fragile glow
Of the quiet, sleepy stars.

Desolate teardrops
Freeze to beaded crystals
Upon my trembling cheeks...
My soul is crippled
And my arms barren
Without the warmth of you.

A spirit languished,
Floating in the icy sky
Bears the anquish of my thoughts
As with a gentle sob
I remember you...
And then...simply let you go.

Krista, this is such a touching piece. It brought tears to my eyes, I can relate to it so well. It's so hard to let go, even if it's just a memory. Keep up the beautiful work!

Goodness Alwye, if this is what winter does to you, I need to watch out for spring and summer...

this is wonderful!

Oh, sweetheart, this is such a beautiful poem! The lonliness in this is piercing, I especially liked the lines:

"My frostbitten fingertips
Long to trace the fire
Living in your limbs"

I loved your sentiments, dear

Alwye:

Finally I've read a poem of yours now. This is really good work. I love the way you described how you felt. I can understand about how things can be hard to let go of also. Take care.

I feel you have been peeking into my heart...

This is so heartbreaking...and beautifully expressed...

I love the time
and in between
the calm inside me
in the space
where I can breathe...

I really like how you have described this type of purposeless excitement yet you make the reader realize what's lying between the lines ...the real heartache still existing but lost to time and circumstances... very good!!
