Although miles apart I sense her pain
It washes over me like new fallen rain
Her heart is weary on this night
I will take up the slack and ease her plight

All she has to do is tell me now
I will always be here someway somehow
To be the strength when she needs it most
The most accommodating and gracious of hosts

Please give me the chance at last to be
All of those things she sees in me
The goodness and mercy I carry in my heart
For this special one never will part

It is endless like the deep blue ocean
Rocking her gently in slow motion
I cradle her in arms filled with love
Thanking God and the heavens above

For bringing our paths together here
Where a friendship will flourish for many years
She is a lady of amazing grace and style
Whose love will touch many if only for a while

In my heart she’ll peacefully slumber this eve
Wrapped in the blanket my words shall weave
Never having to worry or feel alone
I will be her very own touchstone

Wonderful poem Lonewolf, friendship like yours is a beautiful thing to see.  I'm sure your feelings are shared; they would have to be.

Amazing that women will reach out and cause friendships to last forever and be one another's touchstone...

and guys just have "buds"...

this is beautiful, and I will send it to MY touchstone...

Lone Wolf,
I want to say that I love this poem.  Contrary to what some of the women on here believe, I, a male, have three friends that I feel this way toward.  Two male friends and one female friend.  They know I feel this way and know that I shall be there should they ever have want or need of me.  Wonderful portrayal of these feeling and devotion.  Again I love this piece.
