May I Have This Dance

Twirling in the gaze of two hearts in a trance
Eyes locked in the surrender of the coming kiss
Realization of the power resting in this dance
Sending two hearts through the rainbow of bliss

Shimmers of sunset resting on the carpeted sea
Azure winds blushing against arms entwined
Turning to the crimsons of the promises to be
Lips breaking barriers of trust no longer blind

Memories photographed in a hesitation so brief
Etched in two hearts fighting against nervous fears
Sigh taken deeply to dismantle yesterday's grief
Resting on the joyous breath of a new love's tears

Possibly no more than just a lonely heart's dream
A fantasy waiting to ride a sunset given the chance
Eyes all a sparkle in a dazzling display of gleam
Waltzing across my heart as I ask you for this dance

L.L.-Thank you my friend for those kind words and I love it when someone finds a favorite verse of line to connect with.  BTW.......just where would that next room be and what room is it.

Lisa-Sorry sweets, not the first in the reply but you know in the heart that you could never be anything less.  Thank you for that wonderful reply and coming from my sister it makes it even more special.  Hugs and love to you.

SEA-Just a mere moment on the floor with you would be more than most men could ever ask for.  Thank you my sweet friend and sorry about the tears.

John-Thank you so much.

Cassandra-Thank you so much for that and for letting me know that it is one of your favorites.  That honors and humbles me especially when I know of the talent in these walls so well.

Marsha-Thank you my friend and president.  A lie down huh?  Working too hard these days are ya?  Tell em I said to cut you loose for a vacation.  I am glad that you liked it my sweet friend and that you found all the elements in it that you enjoy.

Holly-my sweetest of sweets.....I am glad that you could see and feel the dance and that I was able to share this one where you could see it.  I too hope that you find yourself dancing in the arms of the one that holds your heart.  After all, you have a large chunk of mine and that means I will forever dance anyway on the wings of a butterfly.  Hugs and love to you my friend.
(NOW GO GET BETTER before Santa gets really upset with you........remember, germ free cookies..p~nut butter style.)

Charisma-Thank you so much for your always wonderful wishes and replies and may you find yourself wrapped in the warmth of love this Christmas as well.  Hugs to you my friend.

JM-You liked then????????????????  Are you sure my friend?  A groovy it is then as long as you say it I have to believe it.  Thank you sweetness for not only your wonderful replies but you heart as well.  Hugs and love to you baby.

ethome-Thank you so very much my friend.  I don't know that I should bring them home but the roundin up sure as heck sounds like fun.

Karilea-Thank you dearly my friend.  I am glad that I hit that spot for you today.

Startime-A thousand more.....WOW...I hope Santa brings me some new shoes and talcum powder.   Thank you much for that wonderful reply.

~Defining Groovy~

anything that brings a smile to your face
when something touches you and leaves a trace
a moment in time ... sweetly spent
words unspoken still the heart knows what the other meant
quiet comfort in the late of night
moonlight shadows dancing in your eyes so bright
serenity found in the morns sunrise
contentment reflected in your lovers eyes
the peace I feel when I read poetry
the way it heals and inspires me
the gifts of friendship's ties that bind
when one can read the others mind
knowing all that our heart's desire
the moment when love takes you higher
kissing fate ... dancing with destiny
all these things define feeling groovy.

(and a certain stocking stuffer)
Groooovy baby

SO YES ... THIS poem of yours is definately a GROOVY...
dont doubt me baby

OF COURSE YOU MAY! Ooh, did I say that out loud?   LOL
Anyway, my friend, this is definitely something I wouldn't mind being asked.
You got me with quite a few lines here.
My favorites, as follows:

'Realization of the power resting in this dance'

'Memories photographed in a hesitation so brief
Etched in two hearts fighting against nervous fears
Sigh taken deeply to dismantle yesterday's grief'

Mark, you've captured this heart and MANY others here, I'm sure.  Excellent penning, AS USUAL, my friend!

Mark? I remembered the title of this one as one of the most touching responses I've ever gotten to a poem...remember?

"Wallflower"

Empty heart
of circumstance
wallflower
at the dance
trying to
avoid each glance
and stop my toe
from tapping...
Turned away,
left unappraised,
a teardrop stain
on journal's page.
Closed the book,
my entry made:

"He never asked me..."

There you go again again, m'angelheart.
Touched me twice. Hugs and love from karen

Startime-Being giddy is fine with me as it shows that you are happy today and if you want to leave a piece of that here you may do so at anytime.  Happy is a good thing.  Thank you for coming back for a second visit.

Wilfred-Thank you my friend and I am sure that you will be reclaiming that top spot any moment if you haven't already.  Always a pleasure to hear from you.  Happy Holidays my friend.

Nate-Thank you for those kind words and I could not be anything other than honored and humbled both for you to put me in the same catagory with Jimmy as he truely is a master at romance.

Greeneyes-No matter which way I answer that question it could get me in a spot no couldn't it so let's just say that I am waiting for that one whisper of a voice of passion that will lead me to my dreams.  I know it is just a matter of finding the right wind to turn my ear and heart to.  Thank you so much for you kind words.

JM-My sweet friend....that is a wonderful definition of "Groovy" but to me it can be defined in just two words and that my friend would read as simply "Janet Marie"  Thank you sweets.

Kethry-My friend if that is true then all I can say is that you better get some VERY GOOD TOE PROTECTORS.  Thank you so much for the wonderful words.

L.L.-As if I didn't already know.....LOL Thank you so much my friend for the return visit.

SEA-If ever it would dry your tears my sweet friend then for a spin on the floor we would go.  Thank you for the second read and reply.

snowpants -Thank you my dear friend and I am glad that you spoke up so LOUD.  Thank you also for pointing out the lines you liked best as that always helps me to learn and to continue to grow.

Elise-Thank you much and I am hoping I do as well.  I am just waiting for that voice in the wind.

Kathleen-I thought that there was no such thing as TOO MUCH FUN or at least that is what that country song says.  Thank you much.

Marge-" "  Thank you my dear.

Karen-My friend of course I remember and I am glad that you found the sincerity in that reply.  Hugs and love to you as well my friend.

Sunny1-So now I am your big "BOTHER"? LOL  Thank you sis for that wonderful reply and the laugh as well.

Parker-Thank you my friend and now if I can only find my way to that dance floor.

Marsha-Thank you my friend.  I am honored once again that you would stop by for a second read and right before going to bed as well.

Sandra-I don't know if it is I that is the romantic or just my heart but I do know that there is a dance of passion out there for me waiting and I plan on finding my way to that dance floor one way or another.  Thank you so much my friend. Always such a treat to have you here.

Martie-Thank you my sweet friend and I am glad that my hat was still in the vision as it probably will be "WHEN" I finally have this dance.

Rosebud1229 -Trust me when I say that you would NOT want to hear to ME sing.  Thank you so very much my friend.

A Whisper's Caress-Thank you so much and yes you have been gone away too long but one day is too long to be missing you in the blue pages.  Catching up is half the fun though so enjoy my friend and so happy to have you back.

Boy, I was SO close. I almost had them..those wonderful ladies of Passions. I was on a roll and then all you have to do, MArk, is unholster that silver pen of yours and I'm back there with that no good LongJohn. Oh, well, it was fun while it lasted. I shall now relegate myself to the rear of the line where I belong * sniff *

You are never at the back anyway kind sir.......it is I who try to hold my head above the water in your wake and I don't mind as I am learning from your pen and your cunning ways.

Tracie-Thank you dearly my friend.  I am glad that it made you feel like dancing as I believe we all need to more often and under a moon is especially nice.

Diana-I sure as heck hope you mean YOU and of course I knew you would love it.  I would be pretty worried if you didn't and then just have to try a bit harder now wouldn't I?  Now enough with the talk......let's dance my friend.

Last but not least, along comes Liz to calm down these dancing ladies of passions. Actually, I never got to the dance. I got stuck in the gaze in the first line.
You sure do know what to say to a woman.
That's all I've got to say about this poem.

Oh, my gosh !!!!!Mark, this is a whole bunch steamy for an old lady like me!! I should be careful where I wander in Passions. I have to admit that I liked it a whole bunch

are you trying out for the rodeo or what? My goodness, look at all these female poets just foaming at the mouth.  Fire up that computer and write some more of this stuff, it's great.

Liz-My friend, you are never last.  Thank you so much for the witty reply.  I am glad that you liked the poem and a gaze is supposed to make you stop for a bit is it not?

Cathy-Thank you sis.  I got the email and as always, I am glad that you liked the poem.

Mother_Earth-Why thank you so much.  Never be afraid to wander the halls of Passions.  I hear the parimedics are pretty good around here.  I am so happy that you saw the beauty in it and even happier that you are posting poems finally.  You sure did make us wait for them, but well worth it.

Lana-There is ALWAYS one in the making. I am glad that you enjoyed but they are not really foaming at the mouth.  There is one though that I hope is at least anticipating the dance.  Thank you kindly.

There's nothing as romantic as a slow dance in the moolight, except maybe your poetry.
