A Letter to My Love

Do you cast your eyes upon the sand
or upon the mountains?
Do you look at the twinkling stars in the night sky
or hear distant cries of sadness far away?
Let your mind calm to a whisper.
Do not look at the darkness
and analyze its sorrow,
but let the mirror in your mind
reflect all memories;
for the mirror gazes directly upon brilliance
and nothing can measure what is changeless,
such as the light, which is in you.
Your creation was born of ceaseless joy,
that went outward in celebration
of its magnificence.  Celebrate this light,
that encircles you with rapture
and seek your own ebb and flow, with a purpose to heal;
for the hollow tools we use to gnaw upon
the flesh are blunted knives, that pierce us
with sadness and fill us with a heaviness,
soon becoming a body of weight,
like an anchor, to cast us earthward.
I gnaw in silent aching for this longing
that will not leave me; this longing called love
and fear can be a stepping stone to that love,
if you would simply face its truth
and know that you are the love
God has put here to shine on me.
For the wafting of the universe is like unto
the sound a violin makes upon a crashing crescendo
and the pulsation of God's mighty energy is tranquil:
yet, it distributes the very essence of all things,
in their right place, at the right time,
so your heart beats in rhythm with my love.

If a dream touches us, it exists to us as anything else that touches us.
John

Some people find subtlety in strangers
if you find anything~let me in
Your eyes~you see everything
my eyes~I see it all together now~and I know

Janet~Thank you for reading.  Her fears were too much.

Sea~I am glad you liked it. My feelings will never change.
