Listening to every heart

Roaming (Since 1968)

If there were a way
that I could make him understand
that my love for him grows ~
but he's so much in demand
other girls surely love him too
I'm not the only one,
What is there for me to do?
yet I can't leave this undone!

                      Roaming about in this world
                      setting his sails for the sky
                      leaving behind another girl
                      saying his last goodbye

If there were a way
that I could make him want to stay
I'd gladly do all that I could
if I knew that indeed he would;
I love to watch him slowly smile
his laughter echoes in the air;
but he'll travel many miles
leaving time lonely and bare.

                      Roaming about in this world
                      setting his sails for the sky
                      leaving behind another girl
                      saying his last goodbye

When he leaves me I'll surely cry
tears will come, fast and sure
My love for him is so very real
yet he's on his worldly tour ~
He'll leave me fast and all alone
in a place that calls for him.
But only echoes of my cries
will answer, barren and within.

                      Roaming about in this world
                      setting his sails for the sky
                      leaving behind another girl
                      saying his last goodbye

circa 1968

A very lyrical quality here, sunshine....reads like a song.

Funny how so many of those world tours lead one right back home....where one should have been all along.

I like this one very much

I'm waving my little flag and sending you lots of cheers. You see, this is what I was saying, this is a first class example. You've always had talent in abundance, and  this proves it.

Hmmmmmmmmm. 1968.  Now that was a good year and this is good writing.  It also shows how far your capabilities have grown and how your work has matured.

Kari love, this is the second time I've replied to this, but if the other one returns from wither it is lost, then fine.
This is absolutely fabulous, I love this one I really do. It's wonderful, brilliant piece, beautiful piccy, and it's completely marvellous. And this is a perfect example of what I was saying, you have always had talent in abundance, it is here, clearly showing through. No wonder your work is superior, and it is don't argue. (Bring out some of your others Kari, you know I can never have too many. Ever!)

'Deer...thank you...indeed I was always listening to music so that you've picked up the "lyrical quality" is pleasing..."round and round we go..." {~,^}

Irish, is it really? Wonderful!...

Marsha, I see the glitter and gleam on that flag of yours...thank you!...{~,^}

Interloper...I was 16 when I wrote this...just before my senior year...just getting over being extremely shy and had just quit my stuttering...I'm glad you see the growth...

Marsha, times two you!...hugs,

Sven...short trip...LOL...thank you...

Nan...landlocked now...perhaps a beach or two in my future...but in the summer, I indeed have "waves"...LOL...

SEA, thank you for showing me my gray hair...where's that box of coloring?...

Thank you Elizabeth...I've kept it for a long time...
