To The East
By Richard Maxfield
12-16-2000

As tear drops fall
Slowly washing pain
From my soul

Dreams like taunting memories
Invade my night
Leaving me weak

Left in a vacuum
Eyes see not
Through the darkness

Mind spinning
In confusion
Looking for reality

Heart screaming
In silence echo
Seeking peace

Standing alone
Watching the sun set
Darkness invading

I turn to the east
To face the new dawn
Wanting what it will dring

*sigh* dear friend, I pray you find happiness and love. Your words touch the heart, dear one. I have faith that someday they will bring her into your arms where she belongs. Much love to you from me.

Richard...past pain makes for wonderful poetry from you, and although I am sorry for the reasons I love what you write...

Thank you Paula fpr all your wonderful comments. It seems we have some things in common. I try not to look back to often but then it was the hardest time in my life so its hard not to. But it does fade more every day.
Love and light,
Richard
