My Bonnie Rose

Love, the thirst that from my parched soul gives rise;
kiss but this, the dust, from my drying lips;
take from my breath to your bosom's eclipse,
this impassioned touch, so to quench my sighs.

Though these dying eyes have assumed new fire;
come sighs of rapture, give blush to my shame,
when cooling embers reignite in flame,
the awakened spark of my heart's desire.

Draw away your thorns my dear Bonnie Rose,
for with my love, I pledge my naked soul;
bared unto you, whom my love I bestow,
laid upon the bed on which you repose.

If a dream touches us,
it exists to us as anything
else that touches us.

*sigh* Oh John this is magnificent. How very romantic you write. You leave the heart yearning for the beauty of your words. Much love to you from me.
