I wrote this poem for my beautiful daughter
Ashley, long before she was born.  And to this day still, she is my best, and my only dream that has come true.
                For Ashley

She's everywhere I go.
I see her at the grocery store
I see her at the beach.
I dream so many dreams of her,
I see her in my sleep.

She's a miracle to behold,
her face colored in peaches and cream.
Her eyes glistening like diamonds,
her long velvet lashes underneath.
She's such a tiny little girl,
her wobbly legs, her miniature feet.
Her laughter has a music all its own,
a song of such beauty, a smile so sweet.

Her innocence and wonder
take my breath away.
And I long to touch her, to hold her
to see her everyday.
She's the greatest joy in life,
that nothing can compare
and each of my days that go on without her,
is more than I can bear.

I want to hold my little angel,
put pink satin ribbons in her hair.
I want to dress her in patent leather shoes,
and buy her pretty things to wear.
I need her smile to light up my life,
and her eyes to fill up my heart.
She's been so long in coming,
I won't know where to start.
I want to kiss away her little tears,
to keep her safe from all her fears.
I want to feel my heart jump,
the first time she says "Mommy"
I want to watch her grow through all the years.

You see, I don't have my little girl yet,
but I see her in others in every facet of my life.
She's still a creation of love in my mind,
but I pray every night, time after time,
that someday that little girl you see
...will be mine.

Proof that dreams of love DO come true.  I hope you included this in her baby book as I am sure she will want to look back on it over the years many times.  Lovely verse and full of a mom's love.

Dear Mark,
Thanks for the sweet words. Yes, it's in her baby book, and you are right, she is proof of dreams come true.  I hope all yours will come true for you. I will be looking for your writing, you have a kind heart.

Startime,
Yes, the love of children is unconditional.  Now if only it could be that way full circle with all our relationships.  I wish for you that kind of love.  I can tell that's the kind you possess in your heart. You are so sweet!
      Much love,
          Elise
