              Princess Nighttime

Tell me, how is this saga going to end?
Should I take your philanthropy,
and wanton desires
and create a novel of warmth and future episodes?
Or are you a faceless idol
that I can only reach for on pre-planned nights,
and wake up alone in the morning.
I have no perspective to put you in.

You used to be my fantasy in the limelight
and then you became a reality, in between
my childish yearnings and bedroom eyes.
You fascinated me, allured me.
You took from me my last sin,
and made it feel like heaven.

I long for you, I love you.
I still climb the pedestal to reach you.
But as the months go by, it descends.
And my visions and hopes begin to falter.
Could it be that you're just using me?
Does my flesh hold something for you
that you can't derive in your other life?
Am I only a fairytale that you like reading,
because you know the Princess is always there to touch?

God, I wish I knew.
I wish I knew that I lived with you in your mind,
as well as your flesh.
I want to be your Princess in the day
as well as the darkness.
When you touch my skin, do you touch my heart as well?
I want to be your Princess -
I want to be your day and nighttime forever.

Someday,
I guess I'll know.
When the book has reached it's final climax,
and the fairytale is over...
...will the Princess stand alone?

*sigh* my heart hurts for you. You have made me ask questions of myself. I wonder if the tales told are honest or just the way to trap another heart. I hope and pray you become the princess you desire for the prince of your choice. Much love to you from me.

Love I leave with you my friend whether it be in your life or of yet the essense of your dreams. http://path2riches.com

Startime,
I'd love to believe the tales are true, I have grown up on them. But then reality shows its presence, and I begin to wonder as you do.  But the fairytale is important, if only to comfort the real world.  I hope you have found, or will find your Prince.
Thanks for the lovely reply.
       Much love,
          Elise

And aren't we just the saddest examples of princesses? As I recall, the story said Happily Ever After.
I know we are both still hoping for that.
Great stuff, in my favorite theme.
