The Shores of Alone

Oh darkest knight who owns my heart
why did you hurt me so?
You left me helpless in the sand,
but why I'll never know.

A self professed true man of steel
that's who you were to me.
Yet such a man would ne'er deny
a love so meant to be.

I saw a vision of a knight
who rode past miles of dreams.
A knight with heart so full of love,
you were not as you seemed.

You offered me a chalice full
of wine so sweet to drink
and then you threw it out to sea
and coldly watched it sink.

So now I stand bereft, alone,
no future left to see.
Just broken love so crumpled up
and pieces left of me.

Yet on a cloudless sunny day,
if I look very close
I see you turn your horse towards me
and ride with me towards hope.

Ah Cat...someday you and I shall talk of Hope...

and then you will be able to go on with your dreams which shall come true...

hugs from me...

Someday, my dear friend, you will be riding that horse with hope, and your PC.  You just need to figure out how to get some of the chinks out of his armor.I loved this one. I love all of them!

Sunshine, Sven, and Athena, thanks so much for reading this and seeing the feelings behind it.
Hope reigns supreme, in the face of the most obvious denial.
Sigh..
You are all such good friends.

Sandra, I know the feelings in this one, it is so easy to give a heart, but ownership ...ah....that's something that I'm not certain anyone should do, unless you know it's pure love!

Sandra this is a fabulous piece, and you have written it so perfectly. Ahhh hope springs eternal, it is always there and she will always give you a smile. There is love all around you and all you need do is stretch out your hand. And she will help you rise once again I know she will. Take care of your heart, and you will find that she will seek you out.
Take care

Really enjoyed the cadence and flow of this one.  The phrases you used were fresh, to me, well describing agony.  Yet there was still a grasping at hope, in the end.

That callous knight turned into the reality of day...I love your arrangement in this poem and the use of words is wonderful... good luck in your ride toward hope. Not every knight is a knave....much enjoyed!!  ethome

I loved the play on words in this title. Your use of words instills a sense of longing for the ever present dream of love.  Hope should never be supressed for dreams do come true.

it exists to us as anything
else that touches us.

A dark Knight he was indeed to lead you on with promises he would not keep. Save your heart for a true Knight who will take you with him on his white horse. Much love and hugs to you, dear one, from me.
