dusted with dreams
she sleeps...
softly she sighs
her sweet baby sighs
her little mouth moves
as if speaking in silence
her tiny fingers twitch
once or twice
yet she is peaceful
in a place where
i cannot accompany her
in her own world
beyond my reach
deep in the night
she plays in the sun
oblivious to the moon nestled high...
then stretching out her arm
she finds me there
pats my cheek gently
and all is good--
she sleeps...

And then you realize the beauty of your world and life suddenly becomes more worthwhile.  Very lovely and yes, sweet defined.  Loved the read and the visions.

Gee, Gale, it's hard to think of a word more apt than sweet.   It's a great image.  I can picture my own babies just so.  Hope you are saving this for her to read when she's older.

My baby's 30 now, those times are much too far away from me.  You've written them well, though.
