My muse is a pursued thought with full intent, a pulse of calculated words falling into random spaces. She frightens you with your charmless nudity: everything not made gone by airs of dignity. My muse waits nude herself and stares through your marrow. Raw truth is an elixir best drunk when drunk, ‘tis said in narrow rooms. She doesn’t paint a smile on crying figures in the corner or bleed fake tears for cardboard statues and their pretend tombs. My muse is a naked woman dead in a stream, wildflowers caught in reflected water’s gleam guarding her from the moon’s leering stare, adored in day. My muse is unadorned. The imperfect thorn. And you don’t get your final say. You can’t hide inside the safety of erected gates, planted shade. You can’t feel the lax power-control of the mess you made. You can’t enjoy the afterglow of having your dreams repaid. She’s just here to stare at you, beautifully ugly, unafraid. |

The entire poem fits together so well.....I am so wishing I could do this.........Thank you for your poetry......you make me think, and see things differently....all the while realizing, it's not different at all......just a fantastic choice of words put together to blow ones mind....you rock!  -SEA |

Kethry, Heh heh, you know it. Emily, What frightens me is calling censorship good parenting. Or is that the most "adult" thing of all? Serenity, Oh no! I wrote "erection" again!  E me, will ya? This is great...makes you think about what it is that makes you/me write...not everyones muse is a lovely lil fairy...different emotions...different views on life...all valid just in different ways |
