Kill the fatted calf
The prodigal daughter returns
I offer thanks on my behalf
To those who soothed my raging burns

To those who gave me courage
To walk within the vale
Those who calmed my passionate rage
And held me through travail

I'm sure I've learned my lesson
It's thankful that I am
Next time I'll self moderate, passion lessen
Be gentle as a lamb

I'm so glad to be back
I've missed the passions' crowd
It gives me heart I always lack
And helps me stand up proud

So celebrate with me
Hopefully I've learned
There's cold comfort and misery
When I've crashed and burned

I'll try to do my best
That's all that I can offer
Give bitterness in me a rest
And thankfulness I proffer

I'm calm again, near whole
Upheld by passions' friends
I have learned from gentle souls
The means don't justify the ends

Raise your glass in harmony
While lastly I must warn
If I'm out of control please come to me
Before I crash and burn

So, kill the fatted calf
The prodigal returns
I hope to make you sigh and laugh
I hope I lives and learns.

You out of control, never. I'm so glad your back you are the topic over breakfast at my house. We love to see what you've been up to.
Besides we need you to keep the 3 (you know who) in line. You know how they get when left alone too long.

I have too little history to fully understand this piece and the emotions that inspired/prompted it.  I do know it is strong and sounds deeply sincere.  Well done recording of a struggle just about conquered.

inot2B,
Moi, the topic over breakfast, it's a bit too early in the morning to let the conversation get that ugly. . Btw should I be flattered or keep a look out for those Gendarmes.

VAS thanks for the response. Perhaps you should talk to inot 2B after all I'm the topic of her breakfast conversation.

Kethry, Bravi Brarvi Bravissmi, Did I miss you? Is the sun in the sky, does the moon orbit the earth, and are there stars at night. (Yes love I missed you,   just a little   ) Wonderful flow of writing, I really love this one. (Now I'll pop outside and kill the fatted calf. Or more pratically visit Marks and Sparks, and get something from the chilled cabinate. Not that you don't deserve the fatted calf, it's just I couldn't kill it if I did catch it.   )
Don't laugh, it's not funny, okay yes it is,!!
Take care

Lynne - Yanno, I get real nervous when somebody says "kill the fatted calf" - After all, Toerag can be quite emotional when you start talking about his offspring!  Then all the rest of us have to lie a lot and tell him how good he is just to calm him down again.

As for returning - child, you never left - lol

I'm just recovering from food-poisoning... so I'll skip the feast if that's okay with you. *G* But your voice is always welcome. *S*

and this is "Mom" here, y'hear?

ethome, we did have the series, I remember the line. I guess alzheimer's hasn't kicked in completely...yet. Thanks for the comments.

Marsha, have you any idea how much you make me laugh, how well your give me perspective, how much you lift me up. Well you do all this as naturaly as breathing.  I feel I know you, in the non biblical sense of course.
Wind to your wings.

LJA, 'salright, Toerag's too busy chasing down nuts to worry about his offspring. Besides I posted him a tribute poem that oughta keep him busy for a while

JM, wing sib. I doffs my hat to one who knows and can still return to the playground.

Suthern, hope you feel better soon, and no more oysters you hear!

Sven, ok, just desserts. More poetry is it. But be warned it could be a flood. Get them animals in the ark!

Sunshine, from my spirit to your heart, I'll always come to you when I need a kiss to make it better. Thank Mom.

Wilfred,
may your hot spots ever reign.

Dr Moose, at last recognition of the truth.
Dr Moose you know it's true
when we're in class it's just we two
against the rest, and while you sleep
I'll pass the test then answers keep
so when you awake, you can pass too
just so's I can stay with you.

'Deer,
Nah only if you killed them in one blow. Thank you from the heart of my bottom.

Live well
Kethry

Kethry love, No love you're only saying that because you want to borrow the dress,   I KNOW   Seriously love you know you were greatly missed, and I'm so happy you're back. So Ms Phoenix, come fly with me,   you can stop my sisters moaning about my dress, or we could both give them something to moan about.   I'll be good honestly, No you're right I won't be, I'll be better.

Take care love
