Listening to every heart

Crepe of Skin {But Music Holds Me}

long gone are the days
of toned sweet skin
now are the days
of
the oncoming

today, December 12
yes, I am
a Sagittarius, and

I enter the final year
of my fourth decade
and my
mirror says
"you've
never
looked
so
real"

and that
is how
I
feel

I knew I
was old before
I was ever
young

so I think
I may now become
unstrung

always as a child
treated older
an adult
in child's
crinoline

never again

and folks?

I love you, still,
you left me
far too young
with unanswered
questions
on my tongue

although you left me
with gifts
love of music
love of life
love of love
not necessarily
in that order

love of life
love of music
love of love
and my brother
loves his acoustics
for he loves his music
and my sister
has love of life
and I have love of love
and love of music
and I love

my crepe of skin
it brings me in
to what I am

~ * ~

I am
a thought
in your heart
a warmer part
in the soul of your
dream, and surrender
yourself to the moonbeam
for the night of dream so
you might hear the key
to the music of the
twilight's scene
and not miss a
note of this
beautiful
dream
not a
one

&
now
dream
somehow
of sunlight
bright, white
taking away the
night to show the
crepe of skin showing
age but somehow you do
not careā€¦.and for that I can
say thank you kind one, for
I shall grow old and you
shall grow with me and
I will love my music
and you shall have
the key to listen
to my heart so
openly so in
awe of we
so in awe
of us so
much
of
we

long gone
are those
days of
young
so much
so I am
entranced of
what will be
more than
I ever was
before

now I want
more

for all I
want is your
happiness

and as you
read this
song of bliss
know that
you are
here now
in my kiss
and in my
crepe of
skin

In my crepe
of skin
you, Sir,
have crept in

please
linger

yes,
a little
longer

and then
a day
one
more

How does one leave a Balladeer speechless? By writing a poem like this one...what style you exhibit! What's the saying...not older..better? It certainly applies to you. Happy birthday, sunshine.

Kari love, your bithday and you didn't tell me!
        H A P P Y B I R T H D A Y
love, and have a great one. You're never be old love, never ever, I always think of you as Persephone, (you can look her up, and you'll know who I mean)
Anyway what a fabulous piece to celebrate your birthday with. Stunning and supremely presented.
(Kari, do you need a clue? Well, you probably don't but if you do....... then the clue is 'pomegranate' )
Take care

Oh and I love it

another year wiser, another year more graceful,  another year cooler ...
this exceptional piece of poetry proves my point...
Happy Birthday Sunshine ...
may it be filled with poetry, music, and all that you hold dear.

'Deer, no one, NO ONE, should ever render you speechless...you're just being complimentary because I'm OLD today...and loving every minute of it...thank you SO much...

Thank you many times over PdV...it's been a most wonderful day...for hundreds of reasons...the music shall never end...

Serenity! Yes, you ARE...thank you...

Marsha, you tease...I'm still trying to figure out how Hades and Persephone and me all go together...O wait...nah, can't be that...well, I'll hop over to my other window and continue reading up on her...hugs YOU...

Marge, I wear the music well? You bet I do little one!...and hopefully someday this Pied Piper will lead us on to better things...

JM, look at you, putting in the star sign for me! I love it, thank you! I've decided to wear my Pollyanna suit more often, so get ready for some brilliant sunshine...and JM? It's going to be a VERY Good year...

Sven, I think I've got all the hard stuff behind me...it's almost time to start coasting and having fun in this life...and get ready for the next plane...

thank you all..

I have to agree with Balladeer this one leaves me speechless!! What a beautiful poem of seasoned romance and love! The format is extremely clever!    The reader is enabled to flow down through your thoughts so freely and .....those last parts are just incredible.. they made me feel all warm and happy...just great work Karilea!!
