I Fear the doll

In the corner of my room,
There is a line twixt light and gloom,
And perched in velvet finery,
Mary Anne, she waits for me,
Watching, watching glassy eyes,
Never sleeping, open wide,
I peek at her from in my bed,
Her blood red lips and ivory head,
Biding time 'til I can keep,
No longer from a fitful sleep,
For if I slumber, then I'm sure,
From darkness 'cross my bedroom floor,
The pitter pat of tiny feet,
Those china hands upon my sheet,
She'll claw and scrape until she stands,
My heaving throat within her hands,
Then crush the very life from me,
There's no escape from such as she,
So here I cower at midnights toll,
I dare not sleep, I fear the doll.

Olias, i wonder if you are familiar with Teletubbies..they were all the rage in the place i lived in, a while back...

well, the dolls look terrifying with their large black eyes seemingly staring right at you..i often wonder if little children will be scared of them attacking them late at the midnight hour when toys come alive...

forgive me for my rambling but this was an enjoyable read and you have described this child's fears very well...

regards

This reminds me of an old Twilight Zone episode with "talking Tina"
gave me goose bumps.

Kaile,
I remember Tinkie winkie, la la and po  , I agree they are enough to scare anyone. I'm glad you enjoyed this, I'm just trying to give my phobia some therapy.

Serenity,
I'm a sci fi/ horror buff but I have a real problem with china dolls for some reason and this only started in my adult years....weird.
Thanks for your reply.

Irish Rose
I've never seen that episode, and I dont think I could watch it, I'm just a big coward  . Thank you for your reply.

Regards to all,
Olias

This was entertaining and very well written.  I think I need to be careful because of all the suffering that I have inflicted on my sister`s dolls.
