Music Man

Pure passion flows in every note
Pours forth through every word
Proceeding from that golden throat
No sweeter sounds I’ve heard.

You traveled far from family
To answer your heart’s call;
Despite your dream’s uncertainty
You had to give your all.

You may not ever get too far
Might never climb that top-ten chart
To wow the world with your guitar
To share with all what’s in your heart.

You’ll always give it your best shot
And as the years roll swiftly by
Regret will never be your lot
For you will know that you had tried.

Sing on forever, Music Man
Strum chords that share your depth of soul
Pen poet's words as you have planned
Fulfilling your Designer's goal.

For my nephew, John Condron, our bright and shining star! Love you, Johnny!

Denise,

Fabulous wishes.  May all his dreams come true for him.  He does not travel an easy road, but with persistence he may reach his goal.

Denise, the above quote had me with tears don't ask me why it just did and then as I read the heartfelt joy for best wishes those tears did disappear...

Lovely write...

Fantastic, Denise! It doesn't matter how far we get but how hard we tried. If he's in your family tree, I see no problem there!!

Their is something about music that when it gets into your blood it takes control.  My son plays the guitar and I see it in him also.  Well written and enjoyed.

Thank you, John, Corinne and Nate! Sorry it took so long to thank you, but I have been under the weather for the past week. I'm glad you enjoyed it! Sometimes I change my poems several times before I get the finished product, and I'm still tweaking this one, but I'm so glad you like it so far!

Thank you, Nan, Kit and Kaile for reading and for your wonderful replies! I think there is nothing so sad than for someone at the end of their life to realize they had taken the wrong road, had not followed their heart, had not utilized their God-given talents. Thanks again!

How fortunate he is to have an aunt to love and inspire him. This is such a warm tribute and one more sign of the importance you give to family.
Plus it's a really great poem!

if you ever want to be a legal assistant in Kansas, let me know... *smile*
although we did have a judge get in trouble once with the Supreme Court for writing decisions in poetic form.
Wonderful poem Denise and be sure and get me an autograph....

Thanks Elizabeth and Mike! Glad you enjoyed! Family is everything, Elizabeth, that's for sure! Hey Mike, I think I heard of that judge...my kind of guy! Say, any judges that I might know looking for a clerk...hmm?
