On Your Wing

see it, I know you do not
the glint of gold on soft wing
that with which you most tenderly
extend to lift, with your poetry

and in times of trouble, quiet the tear
in times of distress, calm the fear
in times of joy, lift voice to hear
with your wings, you gather near

I take comfort within your fold
my eyes shine from your wing of gold
and take pleasure as your story unfolds
and grow in strength, grow in bold

see it, I know you do not
the glint of gold upon your soft wing
that with which you quite tenderly
extend to love when you come sing

and grace my presence with thee
and your songs of poetry

Karilea
If I whisper, will you listen?...
I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound.

Oh, there are so many things that poetry can do, you've laid that out extremely well.  Do we not always hope that the offerings we bring might do one iota of bringing one to sing.

SunShine....
You are awesome!
Not only is this poem beautiful,
it's very sweet.
You've done a wonderful job with this one.
Who ever you wrote this for I'm sure will be so honored,
just as honored as I was to have had the chance
to read it!

Nine poets came to see
if the wings were meant for thee
and the answer is...
Yes...

if others come through
the door
the wings are for
you as well
Welcome in...

Karilea

I came in here with devilish grin
Not in control of the mischief within.
And then......

I read your words of thankful praise,
So I polished my halo with the sun's rays,
To say......

You made my kitty kicking seem less fun.
Aren't you ashamed for what I've become?
I'm undone....

But I like your poem...

Karilea,
I know pure sunshine flows from you
and in this write you've proved it's true
your heart is matched by your gold pen
so I stand say encore again.
would that this was writ for me
I would dwell in realms heavenly.
I love it when poetry moves into song
I have no words, be real, write on.

At the first, I must say
there was no thought
of kitty-kicking ways

there was only herein
an angel's grin

LJA...change your ways.................and I've always liked you...

Mr. Yeats..."need" is not here..."like" and "friend" is here indeed...

Vandana..thank you...

Kethry, when poetry moves into music, it is that much more captivating....we have lots to share...I am here for you...
