I learned to pray today
Oh, not in just the usual way
Not to God for my redemption
But to Him for one more exemption

Let me not fall in love this time
Give me dispassion in my rhyme
Close and lock this poet’s heart
Make love stop ‘ere it would start

Make me sightless to his smile
Deaf to his loving words of guile
Make me immune to his touch
Though I need it, so very much

Let me hide behind your divinity
Until I am safe from love’s entreaty
Secure in my solitude again

Beautiful Sharon! Although we may dream and pray for the sanctuary and comfort of our solitude, perhaps we may miss the best opportunities? Only time and answers to prayers will tell ... lovely writing and expression in this!

Best wishes,
/Kit

I’ve a cave that’s up for sale, I’m willing to let you move in for free to get away from things for a while if you like. It’s a long way from parties and people and you’d have to put up with me dropping in from time to time but it’s yours if you want it.

Thanks for the chance to read and reply

Yes, I admit your general rule. That every poet is a fool:
But I myself may serve to show it. That every fool is not a poet.

Now why would I think that a woman with as large a heart as yours would ever want that much solitude...but I do understand...O I do understand...

Sharon...
This is a brilliant and sad piece.
Do what you need to do to survive....
even though I hate to see you shut your self out (if you're speaking of a RL situation).
You do what Sharon needs to do....and go on from there!

Well seeing I live like this, I fully understood this read.  I love my peace and solitude.  Sorry I missed the first go around.
