Mother Please
By Richard Maxfield
3-9-2000

From the time I was a child
You did your best to teach
Taught me fire was hot
And placed it out of reach

You showed me how to share
And to make new friends
Its how we play the game
Matters not who wins

By your example how
People I should treat
Taught me to clean the house
And keep myself real neat

Taught me like a man to stand
And the proper way to talk
Set my feet on the path of life
And showed me how to walk

Showed me how to respect
Be a man who cares
To be a person who is real
And not to put on airs

Mother please there is one thing
I really need to know
You taught how to love
Not how to let it go

unfortunatly, though it pains them, parents know there are things that we have to learn on our own...I still haven't found a way to let an old love totally go...The pain just fades and lessons under skin and something or someone else usually helps to take the place...life continues and sometimes you realize for the best..beautiful, beautiful poem here I sooooooooo enjoyed!!!!!!!!!

MaxTec~
This speaks softly of the lessons that can be taught ...

'You taught how to love
Not how to let it go'

Some lessons we have to learn by ourselves.

A thoughtful write.

A mother can teach you to walk,
learn you the first words to talk
and the first step was on mothers hand
she whipes your tears and understand
she always guide you with advice
and ease the pain, wishing you the best
be there for you is all she can do
but to let go love, can only done by you.
