Listening to every heart

Merry is my Imp

use to call "it" a little imp
she was always around
in and out, up and down
didn't leave me alone for long
always ready with her own song
always delightful, even brightful
never spiteful, she's such a little imp

she brings merry to my way

perhaps it was just the month
that in which I was born
maybe 'cause it was my daddy
filled me up with corn
maybe it's because
I just never see the side that's worn
and maybe it's the imp in me
doing duty to which she was sworn

she puts merry in my way

I can't help it, she's so cute
she sings me like a silver flute
she makes me smile all the while
and carts away any frowns
I even have to laugh at me
when I think I'm down

she sings merry all the day

so please don't mind my merryness
she fills me so with happiness
even when she's a blessed mess
she's my little imp

Marsha, you only say that because you know an imp or two yourself!

I loved the title Karilea! What a wonderful read ... I adored the playful and sunshiny words you've penned ... just had to read it again.  I love your "imp"ishness!

Best wishes,
/Kit
