O, Silent Hours
Virginia Salter

O, silent hours of quietude
how they fill the dark of day
my time with you is solitude
in moment’s kneel to pray

whispers come in on the wind
children sing of songs
winged lambs of fortitude
enhance the day to strong

a lilting wave of bells and chimes
do sate the minutes by
and days and weeks in platitudes
across the universe do fly

sands of time blow ‘cross the desert
in winds of change and clime
and pebbles dance within the waves
as lyrics flow in rhyme

the page of life’s imprinted
with beauty or with shame
written in the choices
made by one’s proclaim

and where do I find rectitude
if not within my heart
‘twould matter not, my doing good,
if love I’d not impart

Literally, the bottom line. Well done

Live for love. Without love, you don't live.
