When roots grow firmly, planted into earth,
You need not dread how fierce the winds may blow,
If broken, there will always be rebirth,
New tendrils reaching skyward soon will grow,
From aspirations dashed, revived they spring,
And flourish 'neath a covering celeste,
Protected by a hardy outstretching,
Of taproots seeking nourishment afresh.
The tempest's howl may sweep across the land,
Upturning shallow growth that swiftly fades,
You need not fear, for you will staunchly stand
In whirlwind's tearing forces: you'll pervade.

You must, with some resolve, tenacity,
Have laid the groundwork, growing it deeply.

Thank you, Sharon. I'm doing well...out of the wind, well into shelter's protection.
I appreciate you reading, and posting a reply.

Thanks again,

Very well done, dear!  It reminded me of something I've been wanting to write about for a long time, yet I hadn't considered a poem, initially.  Maybe that is the way I could get it going.  It will be about a cactus and it will be a metaphor as well.

Yes, a tap root does aid in stability.  Good one!
