Too Silent
Oh what emptiness there is in this silence
When no music or words written will quench this drawing to memory,
This yearning to touch upon anothers purity,
To eat their words whole, like they are a soul's foundation
Fill me, disregard the emptiness

Fervent intent, passion do I crave
I will not mislead myself again,
reminding myself of all the whys of before
Remember?

Scorned  this lust is ,as sinful thoughts to give,
when this touch is so distant,
so full of uncertainty
Why do I crave it when it does not hold me?

Never will I  again touch in empty temptation,
Unless you hold my soul like your own, but you do not know me,
for you have not
seen my heart fully
I wanted to be known by you but I did not think you allowed it's knowing

How I long to just hear  your words echoed in this empty silence,
in a convesation of whys
but I rather hear affection uttered truly to my eyes

Morning kisses and unsure remembrances
I wanted to open my soul to you
But he, this memory, has gone and left my body, soul, and mind and I think of another
That could possibly take the  place
I denied him

How long it has been since "I love you" has kissed its hidden taste upon me, upon
my heart

But he cannot take your place
I need , and to need is weak
And I have worked so hard to be "independently happy."

Farce face of words
Elixir of pacified rhetoric,
Not withstanding
anything except regret

Nourish the affection, that does not exist say in my remembrance
Do you know what love really means?
does anybody? say it meaningful, but only if you mean its words, words that my mind dreams, just a chance to be seen
openly
I am all but a novice to these whiles
love me or leave me

Am I in a sense nameless?
Or innocence, natural?
IF you really were the one who once loved me you might know, but you are not,
And he is gone existing only in romantic notions and thoughts

You are as distant as your voice misinterpreting the words I write,
What can words say?
Could you ever know me except in heaven's grace?
Do we every really know another by their emptiness?
Can we really say a word as strong as a kiss?
Will you taste me upon soul?
every to know me for more than eyes hold?
more than expectations?
does real hold real?

Do you know what it means to truly love?
I have cried tears that I refused
And now they come unrecognized even to my own eyes
In this silent house time as found a friend inside...
Regret

Barbara - you have spoken part of my soul with this.

Many of your phrases express certain things I am feeling or have felt lately.

It held me enthralled - thankyou for it.

I must say I'm overwhelmed this is superbly written...

Girl,  you can write, keep it up, I know you are new but this is a treasure, it's poetry.....pure poetry!

What is that you express in your eyes? It seems to me more than all the words I have read in my life.

Beautiful, just beautiful!  I have felt like that more times than I'd like to remember.  Your descriptive imagery just took me away.  They say that "The ink from the writer's pen is like that of the tear of his eye", and this poem has touched on those tears.  Keep writing!!!

Athena...How very kind of you to reply..makes me feel good to know someone understands...on a whim I sent him the poem via email...not so sure if that was the wisest..for I really have gotten silence back, but he is busy...sigh...thanks again for the reply.
