Yanno, I really hated to write this poem, but nobody else would write one of me....

I'm respectful and considerate with the fairer sex,
Always deferring, always conferring, always at my best.
I'm a wonderful romantic with a gentle, loving touch,
Always giving my very best because I know I must.

I'm the perfect gentleman, I can never be a rogue,
Always seeking the middle ground, the line upon the road.
I'm earnest in my intentions, hold women in high esteem,
Always preferring the woman's view when it's what she needs.

I'm a poet with a quiet voice, speaking softly with my lines,
Always writing to lift a spirit when its seen far better times.
I've been modest beyond reproach in everything I've done,
Always hating kicking kitty cats even though it's so much fun.

I'm Long John, the poetic silver pirate of the seven seas,
Always willing to do whatever the lovely women please.
I'm Long John, the angelic pirate who must write about himself,
Always ignored by Passions' women, who write of someone else.

Alas, it's a miserable Passions life that this old pirate leads,
Because none of the pretty women here will ever write of me.
Each day I visit and then I cry as I read not a single word
Of their sweet encouragements, of which so much is heard.

Alas, I read of other poets who spin forth their woeful rhymes,
And receive accolades affirming how sweetly the women pine.
Each day the emptiness grows deeper as in sorrow I wait in vain
For a single word affirming they're glad to see me once again.

Alas, my kitty kicking ways really are not my blame,
It's not my fault, I feel unloved, and must redirect the pain.
Each time I kick a kitty cat, Passions' women are the cause,
I'd quit my kitty kicking ways for some feminine applause.

Tara - you are going through some heart-wrenching times?  I'm truly sorry to read that.  If this poem made you smile, then ol' Long John feels a lot more cheritable toward kitty cats (today).  The next time I do kick a kitty, I'm not gonna kick it nearly as hard, just to honor you.

LJA...kick those kitties a little easier yet [better yet, not at all]...and I will applaud...

*giggling with delight* you brought more than just a smile to this Star's face. This was beautiful. *sigh* but do please be gentle with the kitties I so adore animals. Big Hugs for the wonderful poem, sweet pirate. *wicked grin* I do so love reading stories of pirates who do good and carry off the lady of their choice for love upon the stormy seas . Much love to you from me.

Love I leave with you my friend whether it be in your life or of yet the essense of your dreams. http://path2riches.com

Karilea - Your reply says it all - if I will change first, then you will applaud.  My poetry has been reduced to a bargaining chip to save some stupid cat from his just reward.  There was a time when I thought Passions women could love me for my words.  But alas, your concern for kitties is more than your concern for me.  Woe is me.  Is there any Passions woman out there who can love me for me?  (Other than my Lorelei, whom I love intensely and with all my heart).  Please read Starttime's response.  perhaps you, too, will learn to love me for who I am, not what I am.  lol

Star-girl

Thank you for your wonderful words.  I now feel as if I too am worthy of love.  There grows hope in my heart for me.  And also for you wigglin' eyebrows suggestively.  Naturally, I will do my best to protect you from that scalawag Balladeer and that rascal Toerag.  They are both NOT to be trusted.  trust only me, the "pure" one.

Ms deVine - you are indeed devine.  You have made me blush like a virgin over that comment.  I only wish others had your vision and good judgement - lol.  Here's a special hug just for you  .  I will always be a gentleman with you.

So your a misunderstood pirate ... in need of a verse
so you've been wronged  ... and being misread is your curse
You never meant to kick kitties ... never intend to do the felines harm
You say we are blind ... that we are missing the beauty of your pirate charm

Well, maybe there's has been a mistake ... but I will tell you what I do see
When your not kicking kitties ... I have seen you pen some beautiful poetry
When your in the mood ... you write wonderful poems of love and romance
So tell that pirate to behave, write to make us swoon ...
and we will give ya a second chance.

=================
and you DO write some very lovely love poems sir ...
for a scally-wagged ole pirate
hehe

I looked into the sky for my anthem
The words and music came through
But words and music can never touch the beauty that I've seen
Looking into you

I quote
quote:
Alas, my kitty kicking ways really are not my blame,
It's not my fault, I feel unloved, and must redirect the pain.
Each time I kick a kitty cat, Passions' women are the cause,
I'd quit my kitty kicking ways for some feminine applause.

Dear Mr. LongJohn:

I protest that you have never been loved
He sent Lorelei from high above
and that you believe Passions' womens are the cause
gives me regard to give you pause

for you said you'd quit your kitty-kicking ways
but don't all scoundrals come around to say
that they'd do anything for a little applause
well, here you've got it from my kittie's paws

Now LJA you know you're great
because hey...that's what you always relate
and we'd say "hey, we know you're the best"
but then you give us these little tests...

for some applause from the ladies, you'd be good
heck, you'd probably even act like Robin Hood...
take from the rich, give to the poor...
why, however could we ask for anything more?

but since you've chided me, take heed...
I'm always in your corner if you should need
either my applause or my kitty's paws
either way I'm a fan...just 'cause...

Well, this cowboy will just step to the side and see what the pirate can catch in his clutches because I find you not only amusing but I too love it when you get romantic and try to swoon the ladies here.  Besides, you might pen a line or two that this ole cowboy could use later on in his quests.  Oh, yeah, I truely enjoyed the tribute to yourself as you have put it to the blue pages in the desperateness that we all knew was dwelling within you.

While you were gone on vacation
Balladeer said you had an operation
and wouldn't want anything to do with women. Something about you and Toerag would be best buds from now on. Go figure I didn't think the Deer would lie to us.

psst. Bill - I think it's working - all the women are feeling guilty, and if I play me cards right, they'll start swooning over my poetry. I know, I know.  You might feel obligated to give me the credit for this ploy; but, alas, I cannot accept the credit.  Ol' Balladeer has been using this technique for years.   lol

Hi ya JM - Thank you for composing that beautiful poem just for me.  It's enough to make me think about kicking kitties a little less often.  Incidently, it is a neat poem, too!

Lorelei - Your love is all I will ever need.  Every day I love you more than the day before.  I am the luckiest man in the world.  You are an incredible lover, my Lorelei.  My life would be empty and not worth the effort to go on if I ever lost you.  Is your love enough?  Your love overwhelms me.

Karilea - You wonderful poem is very much appreciated.  However, I could not help but notice that you chose to post here as a response to my poem, rather than out in the Forums where others would see it.  I know this may seem like a minor point, but it is not lost on me.  injured, woebegone eyes crying large, wet, sloppy, unmanly tears  lol - BTW - Your poem is terrific - I am not worthy of such praise, but I accept it humbly and promise to try harder to be deserving of your paws applause.

Mark - Yanno, the mark of genius is in the ability to hide one's sources.  So, just be careful and use to your heart's desire - lol.  As for being desperate - yep, I crave the accolades of women, as I will always believe that the Bible is wrong - God created Woman first, then created everything else as a tribute to her beauty.

2B - tears running down my face at the thought of the cruel words 'Deer had for me  How could you say these things of me when all I ever wanted was acceptance and, perhaps, a degree of affection?  where's me a kitty cat - I'm a gonna kick him in honor of 2B - yeah - that'll make me feel better.  Naturally, I will not kick a kitty cat just because you have injured me so.

Wellllll......

I had no idea!  I mean, I simply had no idea of this hidden treasure of manly excellence, why I am speechless!!!!  And all this time you've been right here under my nose, and I don't even have a kitten. I will certainly look at you a whole lot differently from now on, although I always knew you were a kindly, respectable gentleman, except when you pick on sweet Balladeer who wouldn't hurt a flea...oh, on second thought...(ha ha)

Loved this, by the way and I know it's all in fun, your wife is very blessed  < !signature-->

What is that you express in your eyes? It seems to me more than all the words I have read in my life.

Draw nigh unto me, my soul-mate. (pirate)  Draw nigh and let not the icy day seperate our bodies...Ah, my beloved one, how deep is the ocean of sleep!  How distant the morning...in this night! (lifted with love, for my love)
