The Shores of Alone

0 posted 2000-12-07 10:56 PM

They're sugar and spice, it's true
like the old rhyme will say
But what they didn't tell you,
they'll take your breath away.

Such innocence and wisdom
far beyond their years,
these little girls delight me
with laughter and their tears.

Four year old Savanna,
so sure she's royalty.
And two year old Serena
will want what e'r she sees.

They hug me and they kiss me
(they are the only ones)
their love will keep me going
my heart they've truly won.

And now a new one joins them
a special little Starr
an unexpected brightness
I know she will fly far.

I don't have words sufficient
to state my love for them
These precious tiny children
through them, I'm born again.

Dedicated to my three beautiful granddaughters, who have truly kept me sane and kept my heart alive.

Sandra* This is so beautiful!!! I watched my
own little angel sing and dance at church
tonight and my heart (and eyes) spilled over
with pride and love...how this poem touched
me...God bless your little grand angles for
all the happiness they give you...for you
truly deserve it~

Sandra, this is wonderful, and I'm certain they are all adorable. My babes are grown and have all flown the nest, but they none of them have any intention of giving me grand children to spoil, so I have to just live in hope.
Take care

Well, I don't have any grandchildren yet, and am in no hurry to get any...my two kids haven't quite broke free of their teens yet,
but I think I do understand your feelings.

Lovely thoughts, my friend.

Oh Sandra,
This one made me cry.  You are blessed with the beauty of your three little Princesses. They have that beauty in them because of you.
        Love always,  Elise
