Pixies On The Green

Though they stand less than a foot tall
they are filled with fun and mischief
green eyes wide and sparkling
in the cutest rounded faces
You had better be careful of these little tykes
because they are overflowing with zest and fight

They are always dressed in green
to blend in with tall grass and not be seen
with little upside down hats on tiny heads
of a pretty wildflower used to shade from sun faces
They giggle as they plan each days events
to see if they can cause confusion among humans

Today’s excitement has them really hot
they’ve been planning this one for days
jumping around with incredible delight
someone’s in for it from these tykes
The course they have chosen is perfect for them
for a corporate game is planned for this very noon

There is plenty of brush for them to sneak and to hide
and even a few sand pits will suit them just fine
They’ll scatter around causing total confusion
and roll around laughing at the silly humans
They’ll leave little hints to be almost seen
causing doubt in minds knowing something’s amiss

Beware my dear friend as you go out to play
for you are their target for mischief this day
they’ll steal all your balls
from where you know they should be
They’ll bury in sand and laugh with glee
as they use their magic to make them bounce off a tree

You’ll see them clear from the corner of your eye
but you know you can’t say anything you have seen
they’ll send your balls into to water deep
that they stay forever in water trap
This day will be strange my friend my dear man
for to the Golf Green are these tykes little plan
