Rain comes to soothe me
washing all my cares away
brightening my day
puddles made for splashing in
it doesn't get much better

~*~

Rain calls to my heart
soothing, caressing, healing
offering a smile
laughing as each raindrop falls
how I love a rainy day

~*~

Rain hitting the roof
guideing me gently to sleep
like a lullaby
pitter~patter, drip~drop~drip
tonight I will have sweet dreams

SEA-Hello, Wonderful Tankas, like the third best (i always have favorites), but enjoyed them all. Nicely done.

SEA,

Ahhh!  Welcome to world of Tankas.. one of my favorite places to be   I think you are a natural.. they are all beautifully done.  I have to agree with Poeminister and say the third one is also my favorite.. but they are all lovely.

Very well done. Enjoyed them all, and as I would like them each seperately, they make a great "chain" tanka.

these epitomize the warm gentle rains that I love...mostly from my childhood

they seldom happen where I live now, which probably makes the joy of these more profound

I'm just going to have to look up the parameters of a tanka, I need forms that help me limit the length of a piece, not an easy task for me without a manufactured restriction

very lovely sea.. enjoyed them all...

From what i have read a tanka is written by two people..the haiku by one and the last two lines added by his/her lover which makes  a tanka..

Heres another one about the rain for you

rain falls on the sea
upon the nights salty stage
dancing a tap dance
behind the curtain of night
practicing upon the waves

i fixed it sea i had the count wrong
thats what happens when you write poetry
when you first open your eyes haa..
