~ Shadows of past ~

He stood there tall and proud
She saw not a shadow lurking about...

Upon carpet red he expressed a vow
Forever and a day his love she will have...

Life's responsiblities start to overwhelm
With turn of a switch like a coward he ran...

Streams of tears trickle unto her innocent heart
Trying to understand so she may move on...

Those delicate strings of love that once were spun
Slowly release the ties of which same were bound...

Embracing tomorrows among the blossoms of future's path
Rememberances of a love now the shadows of past...

Very lovely and tender . And well written romantic words. I personally prefer the grapich (it is also lovely) at the head of the poem.... however it is just an opinion. LOL and not much to do with your wonderfully talented write which stands alone!

and intellect

KSK, my thanks for your kind compliments and I kinda feel the image is best placed at the end of the poem due to the last two verses it sort of blends it all together... But then again that's my way of thinking

PAULA, I was so hoping you would catch this rite away cus let me tell ya your poem inspired me to touch upon some feelings and I thank you for that and also for being here to take a peak

Hey CB that's part of the world's problem..people running from their responsibilities...and like you mention here like cowards...I like the way you put this point across and the hurt that ensues with the responsible person.....take care   ethome

Coco...what a beauty you have here. "Shadows of Past" is a perfect title for this. And the picture did fit in, exactly where you put it---reading was very much like eavesdropping on the lady's deep thoughts.
Applause and admiration from me to you.

Dani~
This is stunning.
I enjoyed the path your thoughts took, leading me right to that lovely graphic.

You have quite the soft, nostalgic heart.
You had to know I would like this one.
Thank you so much for sharing.

The words and music came through
But words and music can never touch the beauty that I've seen

This brought a bitter sweet smile to my face and tears to my eyes.. Very well done and the graphic goes perfect with it, I think.

Well my friend, look who is shining in the sunny part of the poetic path.  Tis you my dear and you do it so well.  This was not only beautifully penned but so well thought out and shows those moments of reflections entirely as they truely are.  Loved this one and the graphic goes with it perfectly.
