The Carolina sun sets low in the sky
As I take one final look out the window
Amazing to think how much has happened in this last year
How fast life flies on by

So many things have changed in my life
As I take a moment to reflect and let the memories play over in my mind
Allowing visions of you and I to simply rewind

That spring day when you and I first met
I can still remember like it was yesterday
The way you talked and walked
Made me feel like I could simply fly or float away

Love started out as friendship and blossomed like a rose
Creeping up slowly, almost out of the blue
Until one day I realized
I was falling deeply in love with you

When I realized you felt the same
My heart was full of glee
And the love that we have shared
Has helped set us both free

So today now all this time later
I once again make this golden promise to you
To stand beside you forever
In all that you accomplish and do

Never shall I leave you
Forever I will stay
And you know in my heart
The truth of these words that I say

Time has proven us right
Love has withstood mountains and obstacles galore
And now all that remains is
A lifetime of love & happiness for us to explore...

Laura,
I love you!

Very sweet moment of reflection from you my friend.  So nice to see you penning of your love freely and with so much heart in it.  Loved this one as I am sure she will.

What a wonderful poem.  Im glad to see that you are still out there and still madly in love.  Thanks for replying to my poem by the way, Ive been gone for a while and wasnt sure if anyone would remember, you made me feel like a person in here, rather than just some other poet.  Great writing.

Amy love, this is a beautiful poem that so clearly writes your heart. It is indeed a golden promise, and I know that you will be truly happy. If love were a reward for having a golden heart you would be the first it would be given too. You and Laura deserve happiness, and you will live the dream too, I know you will. Happy ever afters were written with you two in mind I'm sure. Look after yourself, keep your love in your heart and soul and remember that destiny is a promise.
Take care
