TENACIOUS CONSCIOUS -------------------------------------- A cunning voice summons to me From a remoteness seemingly far As an Alpine echo rebounds to mimic The brilliance of a distant quasar Its' false deceptive radiance Threatens as my intimidator To overpower and oversee My unknown enemy, a saboteur But my tenacious steadfast conscience Fights the internal polarity As the voice of enticing temptation Works to control me feverishly At times the voice roars lion-like It's efforts to lead and command Using force of enduring persuasion My values to smash and disband Sometimes the voice is a murmur Soft and hushed to pacify Seducing to tug and lead me astray From that, which I strongly edify My conscience contends to resist As it fights a persistant war And emerges a victorious warrior A brave and triumphant Conquestador ! mutington/joyce mutington/joyce "I can live by myself, but not within myself." |

Very good Joyce!! It seems that there is always some kind of war against temptation going on within us......This is a very good description of how it works....I like like that word tenacious ..well put!! ethome |
