Upon a Welcome Shore
Virginia Salter

“It is not good that man should be alone,” so says the Lord.

Yet alone so many be,
windows lit, windows dark.
It may be hard to know
which ones lack the spark
of the lovely Spirit’s glow.

As upon the sea
in harsh, harsh waves
a lonely one may float
wavering in faith and hope
as in a tiny rough hewn boat.

Sinking down
deep in the hold
guarding from the pain
of raucous waves from bitter storms,
torrential, vi’lent rain.

Hiding behind the walls
of high, high boards
one finds it hard to see
the Light upon a welcome shore
as He emits His love for thee.

Might it be necessity
to splinter boards asunder
for one to find
the peace of mind
there in His awesome wonder?

In what manner
might one reach out
to the lonely, saddened soul;
how might one
touch the heart
and cease the waves to roll?

I think this is a beautiful poem, I especially liked the way you worded this stanza;

"Might it be necessity
to splinter boards asunder
for one to find
the peace of mind
there in His awesome wonder?"

Lovely poem, with important questions to ask ourselves!
I'm glad I saw this one!

a very precious message here, to make just one child happy and to make them smile is worth more than words can say. So often we forget the children that don't have families at Christmas. This just reminds us to remember to help them in some way, the smallest things are miracles to them.
