* Hello, I posted this poem a few months ago after being unable to post for a long time, under the name "Mote", and it was the only poem I wrote under that name.  Just wanted to repost it so that it would be under the handle I use all the time now..

Angel

O Angel bright upon this night
splay thy Celestial wings,
and up the sky flourish in flight
away from terrestrial things.

Depart again from this floor Earth
from all its mingling tones-
this humble place of your birth,
that keeps your buried bones.

So Free from all those habiliments
that do weigh down souls to soil
half-governed by nature's elements
amassed in life's mortal coil.

A body of energy to be sustained,
so in tact to thy heavenly gild
of such open-natured impulses now restrained
with Angel Grace meted and willed

A Superconscious haloed thrall of the all-lofty
supernal strata of existence perfected
where so absent are chanced elements to rattle thee
above and out of reach from anything unexpected.

Though by an inkling of inclination
to former passions embraced
your form leaned into temptation
-perhaps a mask almost defaced

You descended here shedding a tear
softly down the brocaded sky
the purest appearance showing fear
but yet scarcely knowing why.

Morbidly searching for a certain something
beyond divinity, outside of
the angel kingdom of noble suffering
Alas perhaps the key to true love

But your Master does bid thee back tonight,
O save for your oblique side,
Be Angel now as brave as thou art bright-
leave it here in me to hide.

Away to Divine Headquaters to reside high
on those donated clouds above this-
the feculant land of us purblind Gods who die-
Return and find unblooming bliss.

And beware if the darkling element is not dead
That tossed thee like a helpless dart
to risk that halo hovering over your head
for a better one over your heart

"...no single sound too rude upon thy slumber shall intrude, Our thoughts, our souls-
O God above! In every deed shall mingle, love."
-Poe
