She sat there on the sofa, soft hair shining in the light
An angel of the evening as I stared with sheer delight.
The music on the stereo set mood romantically
And I was sure that she could sense love pouring out of me.

She looked at me with such a glance that I felt I was sure
It was an open invitation,  although she looked demure.
The candlelight shone in her eyes..lips smiled invitingly
There was no doubt her love within was calling out to me.

I got up from my chair. I needed to be by her side.
The coffee table in the way I gently shoved aside.
I stood there, looking down at her, then reached out for her hand
As she looked up and gave a smile that said, "I understand"

She slowly rose, her eyes on mine, the smile was still in place
My knees felt they could buckle from the beauty of her face.
Then, as we stood there, smiling, while worlds disappeared from view
I put her hand up to my lips and whispered, "I love you."

I bent my face down to her lips and kissed her tenderly
And felt her arms surround my neck and hold me willingly.
The kiss grew stronger,,,stronger still. He body pressed to mine
And I knew I would love this girl until the end of time.

Then someone shut the music off and turned the lights up bright
As people put their jackets on and gaily said goodnight.
My sofa girl then smiled at me and I smiled back, in kind
While feeling very fortunate she hadn't read my mind......

*sigh* this is soft and beautiful. Very romantic and filled with incredible love. I love the read and lost myself in the vision of it. I am beginning to see why you are called the King of Romance. Much love to you from me.

Love I leave with you my friend whether it be in your life or of yet the essense of your dreams. http://path2riches.com

Falling in love again, I see...hmmm. You don't just make it LOOK easy, do ya? It must be good to be the "king"!  Hugs and smiles to you.

Look at you now 'Deer...looking right at her
seems passion sure has found you...really now, for sure...
now don't just let her go, 'Deer, don't just let her pass
she seems to me Oh My, Deer, a mighty fine sweet lass....

treat her oh so fine 'Deer, treat her oh quite well
for there in her mind 'Deer, you are more than just quite swell...

come and be so kind 'Deer, perhaps she won't decline
if you ask her once, 'Deer, and she might incline

so let us know when 'Deer, let us know of when
if there is a then 'Deer, if there is a then...

How soft and warm!  I was expecting a slow dance but I like your description better.

What is that you express in your eyes? It seems to me more than all the words I have read in my life.

She read your mind quite clearly, 'Deer
She knew exactly what it means,
When you slurp your eyebrows with your tongue,
It is only in your dreams.

For she would have a real good time,
On the sofa in your home.
Waiting for you to open the box,
And throw your Lassie a dog bone.

BTW - Another sweet poem from the Balladeer.  It appears you have ingratiated yourself with all these wonderful ladies.  It makes me think of Ms. Cash's song, "Seven Year Ache", as in, "When ya gonna give us some room?"  lol

Oh Mr Deer I am so pleased that you have given up those blow up dolls for a sofa doll. Of course if she read your mind you would most likely be behind bars!!!

'deer,

This IS the stuff fantasies are made of. You have it down to a science. Very nice...I enjoyed reading immensely,

I guess I need to run out a buy a sofa now that I know of the good times that can be had on one.  WOW...sir Balladeer, nothing like making us wish we were in your shoes now is there?  This was a tremendously sensual poem and so full of those moments when time seems to either stand still for a few brief moments or it just sort of escapes us and we are left feeling like we were in a daze of sorts.  You couldn't have been in too much of a daze though to recount it such as this so it must come from your accumulated experience with the matters of the heart and your stability in being able to remain in control under such pressure to just let go.  Wonderful read my friend.

Beautifully done, Balladeer, and clever ending! But I've a bit of bad news for you...we girls can read your minds!

Oh, Balladeer... this is beautiful, almost lyrical...
of course, I also agree with Denise.
