I had fun in Vegas with nakdthoughts
i waited in the Golden Nugget lobby
for her to show up
sitting on the bench
watching the taxis pull up one by one
waiting for Wynter to step out
I walked back to the casino and listened
to hear if she paged me like she said
she would..than i walked back
to the lobby one more time..it was 6:15PM
I knew she would be arriving soon.

she surprised me when she walked
around the corner
We both had big smiles on her faces
and hugged each other..
the taxi had left her out
on the south side of the casino
pulling her suitcase behind her
i thought she was shorter and thinner
then her pic
she thought i was a lot taller than mine
a lady behind the desk told her she looked like Miriah Carey
Wynter thought i looked like Geena Davis
we laughed at our new stardom

we laughed with the cab driver
the next day on the way to Caesars
he was happy as can be
he said we sounded like poets
and he was right
as we talked of the desert mountains

we talked to a jeweler in Caesars forums
he said he bought his daughter an opal
Wynter asked if he would adopt her
and he smiled from ear to ear.

We sat listening to the band in the Nugget
we watched an elderly lady dance
on the dance floor all by herself..
swinging her arms back and forth
she had so much fun
dont know what she was on
but i wish i had of asked

dancing in her leather
below the stage
where the band had begun
she took off the jacket
and underneath
looked like a strapless nightgown
she didnt care what she had on
as long as the music kept playing
nakt and i smiled
enjoying the free show

a young guy danced by himself
on the other end
until he got escorted out
he lived for the music
but i think he was down and out
but while he was dancing
he didnt have a care in the world
while he danced to the soul music

we won money at the Nugget
won money at Treasure Island
saw the tigers at the Mirage
had dessert by the pool
we bought clothes and watched shows
walked..talked all day and night
all in four days
me and Nakthoughts
on Thanksgiving Holiday

I had only met one other person in passions
and that was a couple years ago..
I met Wilfred Yeats..
when i went back to see my father
who was sick.  Wil drove over to the Marriott
where i was staying at the Philadelphia airport
...i waited in the lobby
for him too...standing by the front door
He came over on his lunch hour..
from New Jersey...and all of a sudden
i heard someone say hello behind me
He had come out of the parking elevator
and surprised me too..

He said "well i must say
you are prettier and younger than your pic"
i said "you look better than your pic too"
We laughed..
Wil/Bill was very tall and looked very nice.
we sat and talked  of other poets
it was almost like meeting a movie star.
and than my sister came in and joined us.

He was the first internet friend i had ever
met...I have met two others in between Wil
and Wynter..from another forum one from
Australia and one from Texas...each time
it was as though i was star struck..
Whoever thought when i bought my pc
three years ago..i would be meeting friends
all over the world...love ya both Wynter and Wil.

Truly, virtual reality!  I loved this story...and I was just thinking how well everyone gets to know each other...not knowing each other...

but often I think of one or another after turning off the lights, bells and whistles...and here you are, among lights, bells and whistles, making virtual become reality...

I love it!
