Somewhere... out there...

0 posted 2000-12-03 11:04 PM

in need of a muse, as mine was on leave
I mentioned it to my friend Marge
she sweetly said 'please...choose one of my gals
you may keep her all day at no charge'

but there were so many i could not decide
so i held interviews with each one
for then i would know...i'd be able to choose
which muse i would find the most fun

first there was Camilla telling of places
where wildflowers bloom in the sun
where butterflies flutter and ladybugs mutter
of chores they must do before daylight is done

Poppie just giggled and tickled my fancy
making me laugh at the path her mind took
while skipping through treetops and sliding on rainbows
and sharing a joke with a babbling brook

Skyelara spoke softly of forefathers anguish
the loss of their land and an undying pride
she told of a journey of heartache and sorrow
a Trail of Tears where so many had died

Sweet Sasha brought photos...with each one a story
of laughter and teardrops and hearts filled with love
she guided me gently through the land of remember
where memories fly free on the wings of a dove

Mona got bored and just wouldn't sit still so
we hopped in the car...headed North just for fun
then perched on my shoulder she sang songs of romance
and true love that comes when you know he's the one

Now Destin is wise...a teacher of history
sharing events from before i was born
her knowledge, extensive, impressed me so greatly
i listened and learned till the wee early morn

sweet gentle Meona...a sensitive soul
her caring for others is honest and true
she shares in their sadness and catches their teardrops
for hearts such as hers are so precious and few

though Callie was happy and smiled a lot
she seemed to be caught in a dream
she gushed of her sweetheart with head in the clouds
she's so lost in love...it's extreme

when Kirstin arrived it was time for some fun
we ran off to the mall for a bit
then back to the house where we listened to music
and talked about dating...OH NO...NOT A ZIT!!!

Cassandra...quite mellow...she strummed a guitar
as she shared with me her point of view
the stories she told me hit close to my heart
and actually made me quite blue

Whew...that was the last one...or so i did think
as i strolled towards the kitchen door
but to my surprise, they were all gathered there
at the invite of three muses more

Seems Sliter, Twiter, and Tambra had emptied
my cupboards without thinking twice
as i entered i slipped...fell headfirst and drown
a vat of hot chocolate to be my demise

...no marshmallow raft in sight

vicky, how you made me smile with this one.

Marge is an incredible lady, and has "been there" for me more than once or twice. I applaud this wonderful tribute to our forum "mom", and her many many exceptional muses.

Oh, my ... you did these little darlings proud.
I've told everyone that would listen -
about these precious muses ...
but now maybe they will believe me ! !
You truly picked up the spirit of each of them.

I'm soooooo happy to have given them the
chance to travel to see you.
LOL at the antics you e-mailed me of Sliter, Twiter and Tambra !
They are a trip and a half !

Anytime you need my little lend-a-muse arrangement ...
you just ask, my friend.
They all would love to go again !
You're such a sweetie and a gracious hostess !

I love you !
LOL !  At the raspberry hot chocolate !
You're just a doll !
See .... I told you they'd work you ! !

Vicky -       I'm so glad Marge was generous with her muses, and we do know how well they work for her!  Hope yours comes back soon, although you seem to have done quite well without her this time!     Loved this.

Vicky,
What a fantastic tribute to the creativity of our dear Marge, but how did she get so many muses when some of us have only one, and then only on a part time basis, I am so jealous! :^(
You did yourself and Marge proud with this one. BRAVO!
Dennis :^)

p.s. I'm adding this thread to my library so I can read it over and over again, for inspiration of course!

Now how is it that you know of all of her muses and I have been kept in the dark as to where all of her wonderful verses come from.  No wonder she shines so well.  I too am jealous but only because I would love to have that many females to a"MUSE" me and give me inspiration....LOL.   What a wonderful poetic piece of smiles you have given us with this one.  Loved it as much as the friendship I share with you and our dear Margie girl.

And now that you're back ...
bumping this one for a friend to find.

And don't forget the addition of Leandra who suddenly overcame her studious shyness to introduce herself to me.

I love them all dearly ...

Well this was just too darn precious.  I think of all the muses I am inclined to want to hang out with the little Mona, she looks like fun!  I can tell the work you put into this and appreciate every single word of it.  How very talented you are, and now that I know who you are - here I go to read some more.  Thank you for such a entertaining read, and Marge thanks for lending her the ammo to work with, as this was poetic dynamite!
