Remember What I Say

I cannot take the scent from you
or wash the stains away, but when
the day becomes the night,
remember what I say.
Around the time a whisper creeps
and answers to your call,
secrets there in darkness still
seeping down the halls,
around the time a shadow plays
and antagonizes sane,
shyness breathes and tickles sins
and distances remain.
So twist the cloth in folds of two
and smile even though,
and dance the way the devil does
and watch the gardens grow.
Upon the walls the flowers sprout
and frighten off the rage,
and in the air the petals fall
to set the center stage.
So now's the time to let them go,
release the tainted spell,
circle 'round the fruited fields
and imagine all is well.
I cannot take the scent from you
or wash the stains away, but when
the day becomes the night,
remember what I say.

Spitfire--what wonderful images you leave me with...soemtimes light can take away darkness, yes, and a shadow remains.

Interesting..and only in a good way...

'Upon the walls the flowers sprout
and frighten off the rage,
and in the air the petals fall
to set the center stage.'

This image in particular really appeals to me...

a fine write Spitfire...

The wind shifts like this:
Like a human without illusions...
This is how the wind shifts:
Like a human, heavy and heavy,
Who does not care.

This is a different style from you, and I enjoyed this muchly...the meter was right on time and the imagery dark but beautiful.

You do continue to impress me, spitfire...an excellent write and a delicious read!!!

Hi Fire
Excellent reading!
Your words always give me a warm feeling
when I'm feeling cold.
Thanks friend
