The way I sometimes cry
Tears cannot describe
For we still seek real holding
And I fear that I may die

The way I sometimes feel
Lonely neither can describe
It's an ache and longing
For you and it's so real

So I write my poetry
And neither can it do
Justice to the feelings felt
When I think of you

It doesn't nearly tell the world
My addictive need to pen
My thoughts of you on paper
As I sit here in my den

For you are my only comfort
All the ease my heart can find
All that keeps me in my sleep
Or when my waking moments bind

Inspiration's often lacking
When I want to write of you
When my muse abandons me
And I sit idly blue

I want to tell of my desire for you
To put my fire in words
To let all its intensity
Fly out like flocks of birds

To tell you that I love you
Can't express my fullest thought
Love is just not word enough
To tell the love you've wrought

So I'm stuck sometimes with paltry rhymes
At times when my words fail
When images of butterflies
Or waterfalls won't sail

All I can give this moment
All God's given me to write
That you're my lovely Gueniviere
And I'm your Lochinvar this night

There are places inside our souls -
that have never been touched.
There are places inside our hearts -
that need to be loved this much.

you just did...

Bill..The first stanza of this poem made me want to cry too...

Your feelins are not paultry, nor are your rhymes...This poem is a painting of love felt and expressed beautifully.

well you KNOW Im loving this right..
Its so cool to see "my" poetry thru another poets eyes...this is beautiful Bill,
written with all the love and desperation of Romeo and Juliet ...
wonderful emoitve romantic bittersweet piece
thank you for allowing my words to inspire you and for sharing it.

I looked into the sky for my anthem
The words and music came through
But words and music can never touch the beauty that I've seen
Looking into you

To all of you for your lovely responses - and especially JM for giving me (a 2nd time) a poem of hers - to feed on and inspire me. I know my love has found it plasing - and that makes it triply appreciated.

I know you'll always have your muse
just close your eyes and she'll be there
your pen and heart are joined so the
words will always flow.
