I do not want to go to sleep.
I do not want to greet tomorrow.
Rollercoaster's ecstacy--
A landing on familiar sorrow.

On the morrow,
I'll be sick.
the loan shark comes...
for payment's bliss,
the flesh rebels
in spite of it--
to make me wish
I'd never borrowed.

And yet?
A quest
still beckons me...

A cradling
of comfort--
webbed...

a sticky kiss
of spider's lust
a mockery of self
in beg...

I do not want to go to bed...
for if I do?

I'll wake.

Oh tell me something else to do...
tell me somewhere else to be...
something I can hold on to--
stop my murdering of me.

Hi, I'm new here and this is my first post at this website, so here goes...

Your poem is filled with vivid imagery that portrayed a powerful sense of despondancy. It was almost like the feeling of 'being trapped in a submarine at the bottom of the ocean that cannot surface, no way up, no way out'.

How we have all wished later on that we had not rushed into finance for this or HP for that.

Good poetry.
Wishmaster.

================
me thinks we aint talking bout paying the rent ...
and staying awake wont work either...tried it
reality still comes with the sunrise...
but sometimes ..so does respite...
felt this one me twin...
your poetry is screaming in its emote baby
and in its grace of you
hugs luvie
me

I looked into the sky for my anthem
The words and music came through
But words and music can never touch the beauty that I've seen
Looking into you

ethome? thank you for the sympathy and the "poor baby!" lol...hugs to you long overdue.

and Kethry, m'friend...you are writing so much and so superbly that it's getting difficult to keep up...you're clearly the winner here!

Wishmaster, your reply thrilled me because yes, that is exactly the feeling...thank you much for understanding.

Janet...big freaking SIGH...yep, I am still shadow boxing over here...and you m'twin...always seem to know when...hopefully tomorrow I can do better.

doreen? Oh dear...I hope this isn't from inside of your head...lol...I could use a ride on a good trapeze about now...how 'bout you? lol..winks...and grins...(forgot to ask about the safety net)
