A Child’s Friend
Karen Torbiak
2000

The sun is warm
the fields all decked out in green
As a small child takes joy
from all beauty seen

She runs fast through the fields
taking joy in living
Rolling down hills of grass
fills her heart with thanks giving

Laying on her back
watching fluffy white clouds go by
There is nothing in her life
right now to make her cry

She is six years old
and filled with love of life
Too soon as day draws closed
her life will fill with strife

In her joy she has forgotten
this is the end of the week
Soon it will be time for safety
this child will seek

She skips home, full of life
as the dinner hour draws near
Slowing her steps as little heart
remembers what she has to fear

Already she can hear the cries,
and turning she flees to block the screams
Running her heart cries
that this is not the way it is in dreams

Deep into the forest
to the arms of her friend she flies
Where with her heart upon HIS chest
HE will soothe her as she cries

This friend of hers
who no one seems to know
Does to this little child
great love show

HE holds her close and whispers
love divine with nothing for him to gain
She knows within her deepest soul
that HE understands her pain

HE tells her that just for a little
while she will suffer still
Learning love divine
that she may do the Father’s will

She draws strength and love
from HIM to carry on
Looking deep into HIS eyes
she nods and is gone

Returning home she wonders
at all HE has revealed to her
And wonders yet again who hurt
HIS hands but she is not sure

Deep within her heart
she knows HE is love
Given to a child whose prayers
have reached above

Love I leave with you my friend whether it be in your life or of yet the essense of your dreams. http://path2riches.com

What a thinking poem...and too soon the child may forget that special Friend in the hurt of the day...how well you placed this before us...how our actions are seen in the eyes of a six year old...and how we should all remember to turn to Him.

No better gift could you give on a Sunday morn...

Karilea
If I whisper, will you listen?...
I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound.

Thank you, dear one. Through the eyes and heart of a little child we learn true, unconditional love. Much love to you from me.
