Why is Divinity So Sinful?
Virginia Salter

Why is divinity so sinful
when at its root, it’s divine?
Why would something so luscious
be defining and so seldom kind.

It eats at one’s teeth
and amples one’s belly
it clogs up one’s veins
and turns one to jelly.

It turns one’s discipline
to the epitome of wuss;
it sets up a todo
making one sour puss.

It makes one a liar
when sanity’s sought
telling oneself
it’s only fatt’ning if bought.

Now aren’t all things good
that the good Lord created
and shouldn’t they all
be well celebrated?

Combining the beauty
of things of the earth
can fill up one’s mouth
with moments of mirth.

Why should this mirth
be so explosive in size
to land on my hips
and enlarge well my thighs?

Christmas goodies
have been conjured
for all to extol
the coming of Christ to amend for the fall.

Should we relish
each divinely made fruit
without needing to don
an extra-large suit?

I don't know, but this sure reminded me of the great divinity my Aunt Bea made. Oh, God, I want it.  It melted in my mouth!!

What is that you express in your eyes? It seems to me more than all the words I have read in my life.

Yes, just the perfect divinity is so much only a memory.  My Dr. wants it to stay that way, too. ;o{

Good question...it's so hard to shut down the eating mill at this time of year...but those larger suits cost more... what do you do? I think a little less of divinity's prosper would be a huge help.....maybe!!   I enjoyed this very much!!
