---------------
WEBS OF TIME
------------------

I sat among the dust and webs of time
And loathed myself with every passing chime

The spider was my friend at last
My fear of him had long surpassed
We shared a space as life's outcasts

I held on to what little life I had
Day after day barefoot and nightgown clad

I'd watch him dangle in the air
I'd rest in my reclining chair
Yet, no one cared that we were there

An unlocked door, but no one ever came
I scuffed from room to room so lost and lame

We knew our days were near their end
I cried with every poem I penned
Sharing crumbs with my spider friend

Then one cold day, I found him stiff and dead
I held him in my grasp and went to bed

In deepest sleep I chose to be
Escaping lonely agony
Hand in hand..my spider friend and me

I could relate (well, except to the spider part because I'm still afraid of them). I liked the format of this one too.
